There’s been a huge debate as to whether you should eat fruits and vegetables that contain pesticides in them. I am here to tell you the health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide exposure. The word pesticides is such a “nasty” word which is why I wanted to explain what they are.
Pesticides can be defined as a substance that is used for destroying insects or other harmful organisms that can damage the crop being grown. The problem with pesticides is over long periods of time, they can cause health problems to your body. My job is to simply inform you of which foods you should be eating to avoid any adverse side effects.
According to the Environmental Working Group, there are 14 foods you should always buy organic as they contain large amount of pesticides in them. The are known as “The Dirty Dozen” and I’ve listed them below.
This shoppers guide informs you of the foods that are best to buy organic due to high pesticide exposure. The reason is to protect your body from any harmful side effects that may happen from years of eating pesticides and chemicals.

If you’ve been eating food from the Dirty Dozen list, remember eating any fruit and vegetable is better than not eating them at all.
The Dirty Dozen is simply 12 fruits and veggies that you should highly consider buying organic. I know buying organic can be expensive and inconvenient at times but I’ve got some good news for you on the next page. There’s also a “Clean 15″ list of fruits and veggies that are very low in pesticides and you DON’T have to buy these items organic.
